In the future version of OPN, 2.3 ( or in trunk version if you use our OPN repository), you will have the choice to use a WYSIWYG Editor or use the old system. The OPN developer team has choosen FCKEditor to expand the capabilities of OPN and put this editor in the module structure of OPN.

This HTML text editor brings to the web many of the powerful functionalities of desktop editors like MS Word. It's lightweight and doesn't require any kind of installation on the client computer.
Because it is Open Source, you may use it however you want.

Open Source meets Open Source, thanks to the guys of FCKEditor for their work.

HTML and BBCode buttons are now shown in textareas (where it makes sense). Smilies and userimages are only shown if click the appropriate icons. If the FCKEditor is installed, these icons are shown always. We hopethe elemnts are more clearly arranged.

You should clear the browser cache if you see a blue background behind the buttons.

Hombergs from the OPN developer team announces new efforts on caregories. All categories will get new info about position, images and usergroup. Multiple categories can now be associated to each other e.g an article can now belong to different categories.

Before updating from older versions of OPN, be sure to give every item a category e.g. article, movie..... Items with no category will not be shown!

openphpnuke-2.2.6-core.* - OPN without the modules
openphpnuke-2.2.6-modules-full.* - Only the modules complete
openphpnuke-2.2.6-module-xxx.* - single modules(only these who have changed since 2.2.5 )

If you have already installed 2.2.5 you can use the patch files
openphpnuke-2.2.5-to-2.2.6-* . These files contain only the changes since version 2.2.5 .


We recommend to use the *.tgz or *.tar.bz2 files.
These are much smaller than Zip's. Windows can use theses files without trouble:
*.tgz can be handled with Powerarchiver, Winzip or Winrar.
Powerarchiver or Winrar can handle *.tar.bz2 . A pure " tar for Windows" is available as gnuwin32.
