I would like to allow visitors of my web site to upload files like .zip or .rar files.
I tried two modules:
1) eGallery: This module only allows media file types like images, audio and video.

2) Downloads: Can I use this module for users to upload files? When I configure permissions for a user in the Administration panel, I can select the "Allow upload" right. However, I never see any link/button to upload files when I browse the downloads page...

What are my options ? (I am using OPN 2.2.5)

Also, I have been looking for documentation of each module (I don't know the use of some of them). Is it available somewhere or non existant?

You will see the Uploadfield when you go to Download Add Download.
And under Admin Dowload Download Settings you can say how many bytes the upload can have as maximum.
manne works hard at the documention at the moment. This is at the moment only in german. When the german documentation is ready we will start to translate it into english.

You mean in the Admin interface? Because in the user interface (not admin) I don't see any option on the Downloads page. That is my problem I think... Is there something to configure/enable to allow uploads prior to using that?

I have been able to upload only through the admin interface.

OK, I figured it out. In the download options, the "Download navigation switch off" option was set to "Yes", so the "Add download" option (and others) was not displayed.

Now I have a question. What is the use of the "directory for category" option? I cannot figure what it is made for.
