Hi,

I am not sure if it helps, but I can provide 2 links to portions of the documentation:

german version

english version

These are the very rough beginnings of the documentation, but perhaps helpfull in estimating the necessary contents of the installation screens.

OPN currently supports english and german. The imho easiest way to switch to english you find in step 1 of installation: in top of screen: choose your language.
But there are other ways (after installation):
Administration --> Settings --> server options --> Select the language for your website

Should be built in.

It makes sense to get the mysql working without errors to get a feeling for installation and requirements of opn. Please be more specific: whats your environment, version of apache, php, mysql, what errormessages do you get? Since OPN is heavily tested with mysql you should get it work (maybe with the help of us )

Currently not, because it is a developer version for testing purposes of the developers. This version would not make you happy

But give us a try and lets do it step by step: create a database and start (english) installation and report the error messages here in the forum. The developers are reading this forum and will help you.

Good luck, manne

Mssql is not tested right now. Don't have fond some minutes to build the final steps on supporting this kind of database.

Currently mysql, postgreSQL und SQLite is working.

Ok here is the wierd thing I'm going through
I figured out I don't need to um put a connection string for Mysql
the next thing is if at any time the connection fails for mysql it will tell me
but for the MSSQL it won't probably because it's running on a differn't port
*Hint I'm running the free msde version witch is more stable and free
*Hint The SQL2000 aka 7 Sever on windows 2003 is not stable at all even with the fixes.

The download
Downloads->OpenPHPNuke Beta (1)->Betatester->Details Button
-> on the SOFTWARE-INFOS there is a download button-> I Agree
-> You will get a file called build100.zip

When I look at the ocumentation online I see there is indeed a section at the begining
with the option for English and German like a Choice.

For me this is not true
So yesterday I went through and Translated the text and got it up and running on MySQL and when I tried to connect to MSDE engine instead of Fail i get a Blank Screen ?
Mabey it's the port number your trying to connect to ?

The Download for the MSDE witch is Actually SQLSErver 2000 in a Stripped down
No Front End Interface or any of the bells and whistles. This thing ships with all the new
Microsoft Office Versions and has been for some time
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a0dac778-60a6-4b11-8aa8-bf12261a303a&DisplayLang=en
Anyone who now has Microsoft Office 2003 and installs it with Access they will actually be running off of the MSDE Engine. Because Microsoft so how frekin Buggy the MS Access database was.... So they decided to offer a free solution without any support or any front end program So they make people pretty much use Access to Interface with it
withc is a really nasty deal ......

My First Goal is to get this thing running as it should be with errors of course
on Mysql>?
My Second Goal after I get it up and running transport it or try to get it up and running on MSDE and Provide Directions and help for doing so on my website www.adminxl.com
and then I will test them against each other and other competting products and
against aspx .net stuff and offer people a Solution for a CMS and link to this Opennuke website. I have many other Ideas so on so on and so on

The main idea is to provide a solution that 1 people already have and for 2
for the people that can download a database and get it up and running

then My goal is to Combine this Opennuke to another Comercial but Free product
so people can Ecommerace or any Buisness Transaction for that matter.

I have another programmer possibly to help me
I wish I new more hehe.....

We found ourselves making a CMS from scratch with .net
and found how that someone had Originally tied up the Coonctions to the Database
in a frekin DLL so no one could really figure it out
So we almost had a UP and full blown version of a .net CMS version
trying to emulate the PHP versions and we had it going along nicely till we found
out it was so dam unstable that I wouldn't even rely on it
and tht people were just throwing up smoke and mirrors
and the Whole Solutions based on the .NET were as unstable
as Anything you could possible imagined and people were banking on this and making
cash on screwed up software that was bound to crash in the END

Hope to here from you soon manne
If you have a instant messanger i can install one and we can comunicate more frequently my 2 emails are

This is N O T the actual version. Sorry.

Please try again:
downloads -> openphpnuke -> details -> I agree -> you will get a file called opn_rc.zip.

Not your fault, it´s mine, sorry for this mistake.

Ok I went through the steps found the new file
and then i went for install and found that same version . with no English ?

I was like ok lets see if this indeed is the version because this version has a very special bug! to tell me if I'm dreaming or not.

openPHPnuke 1.0.0 RC (build 1)

on the 2nd part of install there is a text box
called
Installations Verzeichnis
this is a not very nice text box because it will on refresh
toss a extra / in the C:\
so on refresh it will go to C:\\ and then C:\\\ and then C:\\\\
and so on hehe.......

Anyway um same version differn't name of file

I know you can do it put the right file there
there has to be a way to check this ? mabey by file size ?

opn_rc.zip = 4,419
the old version had the bug but did install after several tries..

anyway please check the install.php
Tell me what webserver your using to check this on and i can do the same thing
Mabey it's my webserver ? Try running it first to make sure it's the right one please

get this message to click back to correct there problem
and "when you do that well hrmm it's all gone."
